  • 2 small onions, sliced
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. tomatoes (canned)
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3 whole cloves
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 to 3 pkg. oxtails

Directions

    Brown oxtails in Dutch oven on top of stove.

    Add vegetables to brown; sprinkle with browned flour (to brown flour, place in pan over low heat and watch carefully).

    Add hot water, tomatoes and seasonings (place bay leaves and cloves in cheesecloth bag for ease of removal).

    Cook, covered, in 350° oven until tender.

    Serve with cooked egg noodles.
