  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 tbsp. boiling water
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

    Beat the egg until light.

    Beat in the sugar.

    Melt the chocolate and butter together.

    Add to the egg mixture.

    Stir in the mashed potatoes.

    Mix the flour, salt and baking powder together.

    Add the milk to the egg mixture, alternating with the flour mixture.

    Chill for 1 hour.

    Roll out on a lightly floured board to a 3/8-inch thickness.
