Ingredients

  • 12 oz. (2 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned; uncooked)
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Directions

    Heat oven to 350°.

    In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup chocolate chips (I use the microwave).

    Stir until smooth. Cool slightly.

    Beat together margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.

    Blend in eggs, vanilla and melted chocolate.

    Add combined dry ingredients, except powdered sugar.

    Stir in remaining chocolate pieces.
