- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2In an 8 inch square cake pan, stir flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

3Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and add the water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.

4Stir until smoothly combined.

5Bake in oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
