- 4 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift flour in bowl and make a well in center.

2Take Crisco and start working it into flour gradually, adding buttermilk.

3As you work the flour and Crisco, you may have to use a little more milk. When you have used all the milk, clean hands and then flour your hands well.

4Knead about 4 times, then pinch a small amount off and roll in palm of hand.

5Put in a greased pan and bake at 425° for 15 minutes or until done.
