Ingredients

  • 6 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. Crisco oil
  • 6 pkg. dry yeast
  • 6 c. sloppy potatoes
  • 1 qt. warm milk
  • 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water (dissolve yeast in it)
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 10 lb. flour (until dough doesn't stick to your hands when kneading in flour)

Directions

    Blend sugar and eggs.

    Add potatoes which have been mashed and thinned with water.

    Add oil and salt, then warm milk.

    Lastly, add yeast and flour.

    Set in warm place and let raise until double in size.

    Then roll and cut with doughnut cutter.

    Let raise again. Fry in hot lard or Crisco at 350° or 375°.

    Shake in a bag of 10x sugar or cinnamon and granular sugar.
