  • 1 c. melted Crisco
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 4 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. strawberry preserves

Directions

    Mix the sugar, apples and Crisco. Sift flour; add to apple mixture.

    Flour the nuts and add with spices and preserves.

    It is best to put the dry ingredients in the flour and sift. Bake at 325° for 2 1/2 hours in tube pan.
