  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 unbaked pie shell (9-inch)
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecan halves
