  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 eggs

Directions

    Cream butter, gradually adding sugar.

    Beat well.

    Add eggs and mix well.

    Sift together dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with milk.

    Drop by tablespoons on cookie sheet and bake at 420° until lightly browned.
