- 1 c. butter, softened
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed.

2Add eggs, beating well.

3Combine flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well.

4Stir in vanilla.

5Drop dough by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.

6Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

7Cool.
