Dry Roasted Almonds

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Plain, Natural Almonds
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Salt

    Preheat oven to 250F.

    Place almonds in a large mixing bowl.

    Bring water to boil with salt in a 2 cup measuring cup heat it in the microwave until its boiling (may take 1-2 minutes).

    Stir to make sure salt is dissolved.

    Pour boiling mixture over almonds.

    Stir to coat.

    Lift almonds out of the bowl and onto a shallow pan.

    (I use a 12x16 rimmed baking sheet.)

    Roast in the preheated oven, stirring every 20 minutes until roasted.

    This can take anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

    Toward the end, taste to check the color and flavor of the nuts.

    Store in an airtight container once cooled.
