- 3 c. flour, sifted
- 1 egg, beaten or equivalent egg substitute
- 3/4 to 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- boiling water
Directions

1In large, deep bowl sift flour.

2In small bowl beat egg.

3Add egg mixture to flour, then enough water to make a soft dough. Beat dough mixture with a wooden spoon.

4Cut small piece out of the dough with a tablespoon.

5Working in batches, drop dough pieces into boiling water.

6When cooked, dumplings will rise to top.

7Drain cooked dumplings in a colander.

8Rinse with water and transfer to separate bowl.

9Gently toss with oil.

10Makes about 50 (1-inch diameter) dumplings.

11Serve with soup.
