  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    In a large mixing bowl, sift together sugar and flour. Combine margarine, shortening, cocoa and water in saucepan. Bring to a boil.

    Pour over flour and sugar mixture and mix well. Cool a little and add buttermilk, soda, vanilla, eggs and cinnamon.

    Mix well.

    Batter will be thin.

    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 40 minutes at 375°.
