  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 c. potato water
  • 1 c. compressed yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour, sifted

    Peel and dice potatoes; cover with three-inches of water. Cook until tender (saving 2 cups of water).

    Mash in rest of liquid or blend in food processor.
