- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 5 eggs, hard-boiled (for top)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix salt, sugar, butter and milk; warm over low heat.

2In large bowl, mix 1 cup flour with yeast.

3Add warm milk mixture, eggs and vanilla; beat at low speed until moist, then at high speed for 3 minutes.

4Beat in flour.

5Turn and knead dough.

6Turn into greased bowl; let rise 45 minutes.

7Punch dough down; divide into 3 equal portions.

8Make rope and braid dough.

9Form ring and pinch together.

10Press eggs on top.

11Let rise 1/2 hour.

12Bake in a 350° oven for 25 to 35 minutes.

13Brush top while baking with egg yolk and water mixture to brown and glaze top.
