  • 8 medium Macintosh apples
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Additional sugar and cinnamon

Directions

    Wash apples and cut in quarters (leave seeds and skins).

    Put in pot.

    Add enough water to cover the apples.

    Add sugar and cinnamon.

    Bring to a boil and simmer until apples are very tender, about 5 minutes.

    Remove apples from water with slotted spoon.

    Then process apple pieces in a food mill or push through a fine sieve, set over a bowl.

    For a thicker version, place applesauce in strainer for 10-15 minutes to drain extra water.

    Add more sugar and cinnamon to taste.
