- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Cut margarine into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Add buttermilk to make a soft dough. Stir with a fork until dough leaves sides of bowl.

4Turn out onto lightly floured board; knead just until smooth.

5Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with floured 3-inch cutter.

6Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.

7Brush tops of biscuits lightly with melted margarine.

8Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

9Makes 12 to 14 biscuits.

10These may be frozen.

11Bake for 5 minutes; seal in bag.

12Finish baking when used.
