Easy Chicken Divan

  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli or peas
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 2 oz. medium or sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (1/2 c.)
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 c. sliced cooked chicken or 3 chicken breasts, cooked and boned
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs

Directions

    Cook broccoli or peas according to package directions in salted water until tender.

    Drain.

    Arrange peas or broccoli in greased 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish.

    Layer chicken on top. Combine next 3 ingredients and pour over chicken.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Combine crumbs and butter.

    Sprinkle over all.

    Bake at 350° about 35 minutes or until heated.

    Trim with pimento strips, if desired.
