- 1 lb. ground beef (low-fat works great)
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Combine first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven.

2Cook until beef is browned, stirring until it crumbles.

3Drain.

4Add tomato sauce and remaining ingredients.

5Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6Yields about four cups.
