  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

    Cream sugar, shortening and eggs together. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Don't overbeat. Put into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° until done, about 30 minutes.
