Easy Hand Kneaded Bread

Ingredients
- 300 grams Bread (strong) flour
- 1 tbsp Dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 20 grams Butter or margarine
- 100 ml + 100 ml Milk + water (combined and warmed to 40C)
- 3 tbsp Flour for dusting (bread flour)
- 1 tsp Vegetable oil
- 1 Beaten egg
Directions

1Put the bread flour, dry yeast, sugar, salt and butter in a bowl.

2Add the warmed milk + water, and mix it in with a spatula until the ingredients (except for the flour) have dissolved.

3Mix well with the spatula.

4When the dough comes together, take the spatula out and mix with your hand.

5Slap down the dough and fold it in half in side the bowl for 5 to 7 minutes.

6When the dough is sticky and smooth, the kneading is done.

7Round the dough off into a smooth ball.

8Clean out the bowl, grease it lightly and put in the ball of dough.

9Cover loosely with plastic wrap, and let it rise in the oven at 40C for 40 minutes.

10The dough triples in size!

11Dip your index finger in some flour and poke a hole in the dough.

12If the hole remains, it's finished rising.

13If the hole fills back in, leave the dough to rise for a while longer.

14Cut the dough up into any size you like and form them into shapes.

15I made custard and jam bread this time, so I formed the dough into cup like shapes and topped with custard.

16These are wiener sausage rolls.

17Pierce each sausage 3 times with a knife, and wrap a thin long piece of dough around it three times.

18Tuck the end of the dough under the roll, and place on a kitchen parchment paper lined baking tray.

19Brush the dough with egg wash and top the sausage rolls with a little ketchup.

20Preheat the oven to 180C.

21Put the baking tray with the formed dough on top of the oven.

22The heat from the oven will help the dough to keep rising.

23When the oven has heated up, bake for 20 minutes at 180C.

24Please adjust the baking time depending on your oven.

25If making the custard filled rolls described in step 6, let the bread cool down a bit before adding some jam.

26For the sausage rolls from step 7, sprinkle with a little chopped parsley.

29I made the dough this time with soy milk instead of regular milk.

30Here's an apple and custard bread on the left, and another pizza on the right.

31The pizza was rolled out to be a little smaller than the baking sheet with a rolling pin before adding the toppings.
