Easy Hot Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 4 c. sifted flour

Directions

    Melt yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.

    Pour boiling water over salt, sugar and shortening; let cool.

    Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

    Add flour a little at a time.

    (Sometimes I use a little less than 4 cups.)

    Let rise until double in bulk.

    Punch down and roll out into small balls.

    Let rise and bake at 400° until brown. Can be refrigerated for a few days before baking.
