Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef or sausage mixture
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 c. Ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz. wide lasagna noodles (raw)

Directions

    Brown meat in frying pan, breaking up any lumps.

    Add next four ingredients.

    Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

    In small mixing bowl, mix Ricotta or cottage cheese, egg and Parmesan cheese.

    Put a little of the meat sauce in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, then start alternating layers as follows:

    layer of raw noodles, 1/3 meat sauce, 1/2 of cheese mixture, repeat and then top with last of 1/3 of meat sauce.
