- 1 each onions chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell peppers chopped
- 4 cups water divided
- 1 each great northern beans 15 oz can, drained, rinsed
- 1 each navy beans 15 oz can, drained, rinsed
- 1 each tomato sauce 6 oz can, salt-free
- 1 each tomatoes diced, 14.5 oz can, low-salt, undrained
- 2 teaspoons chili powder or to taste
- 1 teaspoon salt optional
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions

1In a large saucepan, cook the onion and green pepper in 1/2 cup water until tender.

2Add beans, tomato paste and tomatoes.

3Stir in chili powder, salt if desired, pepper and remaining water; bring to a boil.

4Reduce heat cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
