Easy Oven-Fried Chicken

- 1 c. flour
- salt (as desired)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 c. shortening (half butter)
- 1 frying chicken, cut in serving pieces or equivalent pieces of your choice
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2Melt shortening in 13 x 9 1/2-inch pan. Mix dry ingredients in paper or plastic bag.

3Add chicken and shake to coat.

4Place skin-side down in pan and bake 20 minutes. Turn and bake another 20 minutes or until tender.

5For barbecued oven chicken, omit the dry coating and baste with any barbecue sauce.

6Continue basting every 15 or 20 minutes.

7Can use little or no shortening.
