- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 c. Spanish peanuts
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a 3-quart heavy saucepan and stir well.

2Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.

3Cook, stirring often, until candy thermometer reaches 285°.

4Stir in peanuts and margarine and continue to cook until candy thermometer reaches 295°.

5Remove from heat, add vanilla and soda.

6Stir quickly to blend well; mixture will foam.

7Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets and spread out thin.

8Cool 5 minutes, then stretch thinner.

9Cool thoroughly and break into pieces.
