- 3 eggs
- 6 to 8 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- dash of nutmeg
- 9 to 10-inch pie crust
Directions

1Warm crust before putting in custard.

2Beat eggs slightly (just enough to mix yolks and whites).

3Add sugar and salt.

4Stir in milk and vanilla.

5Pour immediately into crust.

6Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes until crust is brown.

7Reduce heat to 300° and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until pie is coagulated to within 1/2-inch of the center.

8An inch of liquid in center will continue cooking after pie is removed from oven.
