Elegant Pork Chops

Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- freshly ground pepper
- 1/3 c. flour
- 2 egg whites
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- 4 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2/3 c. white wine
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Crush the garlic and rub on both sides of pork chops.

2Season with pepper.

3Dip chops in flour.

4Beat egg whites with the water. Place chops in this mixture, then roll in the bread crumbs. Refrigerate 1/2 hour.

5Brown chops in margarine and oil.

6Remove chops to a square casserole dish. To remaining margarine in pan, lightly brown onion.

7Add the wine, beef broth and bay leaf. Simmer for 2 minutes, then pour over pork chops. Cover and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350°.

8Remove bay leaf and serve.
