Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 c. flour
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • cinnamon
  • vegetable oil

Directions

    Soften yeast in warm water.

    Combine all ingredients, except cinnamon and sugar, and mix well.

    Divide dough into 12 pieces. Let sit for 10 minutes, then roll out on a lightly floured board. Using hands, stretch each piece in a circle.

    Heat vegetable in a 10-inch skillet (cast-iron is preferred).

    Place each circle of dough in hot oil and turn once.

    The surface will bubble and blister and should be lightly browned.

    Turn with spatula and bread knife and place on an absorbent paper towel.

    Sprinkle immediately with sugar and cinnamon.
