- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 c. hot water
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. Wesson oil
- 2 eggs, unbeaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cook the 1/2 cup cocoa and hot water until thick and cool. Sift the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda together into a large mixing bowl.

2Mix the buttermilk, oil and eggs in a small bowl, then pour into dry ingredients. Add the vanilla and cocoa mixture. Stir with a large whisk.

3Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or two 8 x 8 x 2-inch pans. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes. Freezes well.
