- 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. water
- cornmeal
Directions

1Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.

2Heat liquids to 125°.

3Add to dry mixture; beat well.

4Stir in enough more flour to make a stiff batter.

5Spoon into 2 bread pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal.

6Sprinkle tops also. Cover.

7Let rise in warm place for 45 minutes.

8Bake at 400° for 25 minutes.

9Remove from pans immediately and cool.

10Especially good toasted and served with butter and honey.
