  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 2 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomatoes

Directions

    In 1 1/2-quart saucepan, melt margarine and saute onion until tender.

    Stir in bread crumbs, sugar, salt and pepper.

    Arrange a layer of tomatoes in 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Top with onion and bread crumbs.

    Repeat layers until all is used, ending with crumbs. Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven at 375° for 35 minutes.
