- 1 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 1/2 c. white syrup
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- 1o to 12 oz. raw Spanish peanuts
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
Directions

1In a 1 1/2 to 2-quart heavy saucepan add white sugar, white syrup and water.

2Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 235° on a candy thermometer.

3Add oleo or butter and peanuts.

4Continue boiling and stir constantly until it reaches 300° on thermometer.

5Remove from heat and add vanilla and soda. Stir well, but do not overbeat, it will foam up some and you want this texture.

6Pour onto two well-greased cookie sheets.

7Cool, crack and enjoy!!!
