  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 34 cup granulated sugar
  • 14 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 cup cocoa
  • 1 34 cups hot water
  • ice cream

Directions

    Mix flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt in an ungreased square pan, 9x9x2-inch.

    Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth.

    Stir in nuts.

    Spread in pan.

    Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup cocoa.

    Pour hot water over batter.

    Bake 40 minutes at 350F

    While warm, spoon into dessert dishes and top with ice cream.

    Crunchy Candy Cake: Substitute 1/3 cup of taffy bits or 1/3 cup of candy coated chocolate for the nuts.
