  • 2 Large Onions, diced
  • 1/2 stick margarine or butter
  • 4-5 cups matzo farfel
  • 1 teaspoon salt or more
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper or more to taste
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 ounces dried morels and their smoking liquid

Directions

    In a large skillet, melt margarine and saute onions and drained morels until tender, add salt and pepper.

    Add matzo farfel and stir until lightly browned, salt again.

    In a large bowl, combine mushroom soaking liquid with broth.

    Add slowly to skillet and cook over low heat, stirring frequently until all liquid is absorbed.
