Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 lb. sifted cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. whiskey or brandy (I use apricot)
- 1 lb. white raisins
- 1 lb. chopped pecans
- 6 egg whites, almost stiffly beaten
- whiskey or brandy cheesecloth
Directions

1Cream together butter and sugar.

2Beat in egg yolks.

3Add dry ingredients, flour, salt and baking powder alternately with 1/2 cup whiskey.

4Stir in white raisins and nuts.

5Fold in beaten egg whites.

6Turn into well-greased and sugared Bundt or angel food pan.

7Bake in preheated 300° oven for approximately 2 hours.

8Cool, remove from pan.

9Wrap cake in cheesecloth wet with additional whiskey.

10Wrap in foil and store in tin, tightly covered.
