- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

4Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, blending well after each addition.

5Blend in flavoring. Spoon batter into 4 or 5 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

6Cool completely and spread coconut icing between layers.
