Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 c. milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 5 c. flour or enough to make a moderately stiff dough
Directions

1Melt shortening into milk while milk is hot.

2Dissolve yeast into water and add to cooled milk.

3Add sugar, salt and eggs; mix well.

4Add flour one cup at a time and knead until dough is stiff and elastic.

5Let stand 20 minutes.

6Roll out and cut into desired shape.

7Cover and let rise until double in size.

8Bake at 400° until golden brown.
