- young fern shoots, less than 12-inches long and curled
- 2 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Wash ferns, using brush to remove brown flaky coating; cut into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

2Saute bacon and garlic in skillet until bacon is crisp.

3Add ferns and water.

4Simmer, tightly covered, until ferns are fork-tender, stirring occasionally.

5Serve like asparagus.
