Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 5 drops hot sauce
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chili con carne
  • 1 pkg. flour tortillas
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese or shredded cheese

Directions

    Saute onion and garlic lightly in salad oil in a large skillet; push to one side.

    Brown beef in same skillet.

    Stir in tomatoes, beans, chili, salt, hot sauce and chili powder; heat to boiling.

    Line pan with part of the tortillas.

    Cover with about 1/3 of the sauce.

    Continue to layer tortillas and sauce until used up.

    Cover with cheese.

    Bake in 400° oven for 30 minutes. Serve bubbling hot.
