- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. salad oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. fig preserves
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl.

2Add oil and beat well. Add eggs, beating after each addition.

3Gradually add buttermilk alternately with fig preserves, nuts and vanilla.

4Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours in Bundt or angel food pan.

5While warm, stick holes in cake with toothpick or fork.

6Glaze cake, using a pastry brush.
