  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. fig preserves
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

    Sift together dry ingredients.

    Add oil and beat well.

    Add eggs and buttermilk gradually.

    Add figs, nuts and vanilla.

    Mix well.

    Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
