Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. Crisco or margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. fig preserves
- 1/8 c. water
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- dash of salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
Directions

1Cut figs up into small pieces.

2Mix figs and soda in a small bowl; let stand.

3In a separate medium sized bowl, blend margarine and sugar.

4Add eggs, figs and water.
-
5Stir well.
-
6In a separate large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.

7Now add other bowl. Add nuts and blend well.

8Scoop teaspoon or tablespoon size and place on cookie sheet.
-
9Bake 10 minutes at 350°.

10These cookies freeze well.
