- figs
- sugar
- water
- sliced lemon
Directions

1First wash figs, discarding broken ones.

2In a large pot, place equal weights of figs and sugar; add a little water. Simmer, lightly covered, until figs are opaque.

3Turn off heat, add 1 sliced lemon and let sit in pot for about 4 hours to make figs plump.

4Reheat and pour into sterilized jars.

5Cool on rack. Jar tops will make popping sound as they seal.
