- 7 lb. figs
- 6 lb. sugar
- 8 c. water
- 1 1/2 lemons, sliced thin
Directions

1Wash figs.

2Wipe dry.

3Mix together the sugar and water in a large pot and heat to a hard boil.

4Add figs, one at a time.

5Cook until they are clear and the syrup has thickened, about 2 hours. Add lemon slices during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

6Pack into hot, sterilized jars.

7Put a slice of lemon in each jar.
-
8Seal with hot, sterilized lids.

9Yields 12 pints.
