Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 pt. fig preserves, mashed (minimize amount of syrup from preserves)
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl; add oil, beating well.

2Add eggs and beat well.

3Add buttermilk and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.

4Stir in preserves and pecans.

5Pour batter into a greased and floured (do not use nonstick spray) 10-inch tube pan.

6Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

7Let cool 10 minutes.

8Remove from pan.

9Pour warm Buttermilk Glaze over warm cake.
