Filled Cookie Turnovers

- 1 c. soft shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 Tbsp. cream
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 5 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 jar raspberry or your favorite flavor preserves
Directions

1Mix the shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly.

2Stir in cream and vanilla.

3Add remaining ingredients except preserves and stir well.

4Chill dough for 1 hour.

5Heat oven to 400°.

6Roll out dough to 1/16-inch thickness.

7Using a cookie cutter, cut 2 for each turnover.

8On lightly greased baking sheet, place 1 piece of dough.

9Place a rounded teaspoonful of preserves and top with another piece of dough.

10Pinch edges.

11Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
