- 1 can red, tart cherries
- 3/4 to 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. juice (from draining cherries)
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 3 drops red food coloring
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
Directions

1Drain cherries into separate bowl.

2Put cherries and all ingredients, except butter, into saucepan.

3Cook slowly until thickened.

4Pour into unbaked 9-inch pie shell.

5Add pieces of butter.

6Top with lattice top.

7Bake as usual.
