Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. active dry yeast
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. gluten flour
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2/3 c. raw sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cardamon
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 2 1/3 c. unbleached white flour
Directions

1Scald milk, then cool until warm.

2Dissolve in yeast.

3Add beaten eggs.

4Add salt and 1 cup gluten flour.

5Beat well.

6Add melted butter and then add rest of gluten flour.

7Beat well.

8Add sugar, cardamon and raisins; knead 2 cups of white flour into dough.

9Add more if necessary.

10Should be soft.

11Knead 20 minutes. Divide and make 2 braids.

12Let rise on floured cookie sheets 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.

13Glaze with beaten eggs and raw sugar. Bake 20 minutes at 400°.
