- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 large garlic clove, crushed
- 1 (28 oz.) can whole, peeled tomatoes and juice
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. cooked, drained pasta
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in large saucepan. Drain fat.

2Cut up tomatoes; add tomatoes and juice, tomato paste, water, mushrooms, bay leaf, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.

3Heat to boiling.

4Reduce heat and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.

5Remove bay leaf.

6Serve over cooked pasta.

7Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
